Tool payback
A tool pays for itself if the time it saves is worth more than its price. Enter the price, what an hour of your time is worth and the hours you expect to save.
- Value of time saved per month
- $0
- Net per month
- $0
- Break-even hours per month
- 0
How this is calculated, and what it cannot know
- Value of time saved = hours saved times the value of one hour. Net = that value minus the tool price. Break-even hours = tool price divided by the value of one hour.
- The hours saved are your estimate, and that estimate is the weakest number here. Try the break-even figure first: if you cannot see yourself saving that many hours, the tool does not pay back on time alone.
- It ignores setup time, learning time, and benefits that are not time, such as better data or more clients won.
- For real prices, see the tool finder or add several tools in the SEO stack cost calculator.
